MA and Ph.D in linguistics and semiotics at University of Paris 10 DEA at L'EHESS, section, Oriental Linguictics Prize Mouton d'Or, attributed by Semiotica Visiting scholar at Oxford University (LG Yeun-Am Senior Fellow) Harvard University (Fulbright Senior Fellow), Cambridge University, CNRS & University of Paris Founder President of the ASIA (Asian Semiotics International Association), Founder of the CACS (Center for Applied Cultural Sciences) Professor of Linguistics and Semiotics at Korea University, Translator of the works of Peirce, Saussure, Greimas, Derrida among others Author of 30 books in semiotics, Saussurean studies, history of linguistic ideas, media theory, visual culture.
